Before & After Cell Phone Charger Box

As promised, here is what is inside the green box!  I think I remember seeing some type of DIY project in Real Simple or Martha Stewart like this years ago using a shoe box...  Anyway, I was going through some old stuff a couple weeks ago and found this decorative paper box that wasn't quite my style.  I painted it green, distressed the edges with some brown paint, and then cut a couple of holes in the back.  Then I strung the charger cords through the holes and voila!  Now we don't have cords and phones laying all around the house!

Hope everone had a great Thanksgiving!  The turkey double-header about did me in (one meal at 1:00 then another at 2:00), but it was well worth it!  One of my favorite moments was when my aunt came in the door with a big suprise- a huge stack of aprons she made out of my Flower Bucket fabric!  She made one for all the ladies in the Fam- how cool!!!

Ummm... so it didn't make me look like the girl on the box, but it feels great to be a brunette again!  I usually go back to my "natural" color in the Fall/Winter, not to mention salon highlights are such a pain to maintain and tough on the wallet...  Thanks Feria #45!  Crap, now I need to change my profile pic, don't I?

So who is going to see New Moon this weekend???  I went to the midnight showing and drank so much caffeine beforehand to stay awake that now it's after 3:30am and I can't sleep!  Totally worth it though, the movie was great...

Shop Update: New Crafty Gal Necklaces and Wooden Spool Earrings!

Just finished a new batch of "Crafty Gal" jewelry.  Yes, those are real mini wooden spools with colored thread!  These were a lot of fun to make... available now in my Etsy shop.

Ooh, and on a personal note, I just bought tickets for B and I to see Owl City.  Woot woot!  It's a little different from the music I usually listen to but I really like it...

Too Cute

A local sewer, Jane Wrenn, sent me this picture yesterday of an outfit she made for her granddaughter.  Isn't she the cutest?  It's so exciting to see what people are creating using my fabrics!  Please feel free to post your "Flower Bucket" projects in my new Flickr group.  Thanks for sharing, Jane, you made my day!

Shop Update: New Craft Addict and Bee Charmer Necklaces!

Just got done with a new batch of "Craft Addict" and "Bee Charmer" necklaces.  I really love these guys and hope you do too!  I only do batches of these every few months, so if you would like to start your holiday shopping early now is the time to visit my Etsy shop!  Once these are gone, they are gone...  Plus I will have a Holiday shows this weekend and the first week of December, so my online store will be on "vacay" during that time.  If you are in the Athens, Ga area I will be at Elements Salon in 5 points this Sunday from 2-5 so feel free to stop by!  They have a Holiday Open House thing and all of the shops in the area will be open with special events going on, should be fun...

Day Trip: North Georgia Mountains

If there is one thing I love about living in Georgia, it is the fact that if you drive a couple of hours South you end up at the beach and if you drive a couple of hours North you end up in the mountains.  B and I decided to take a day trip to Helen, Ga to go hiking and celebrate our anniversary.  We even brought one of our dogs, Roo, with us.  It is the perfect time of year to go there right now- all of the leaves were changing colors and the temperature was just right.  What a great day...
